Hometown: Valley Stream, NY

Education: BA Political Science and Policy Studies, Syracuse University; MS Teaching and Elementary Education, Pace University

Jeanette embarked on her career in nonprofit development after discovering a passion for building relationships with people who have different career and life experiences and who share her belief that our public education system in the US could and should be doing better for all children. She began her career as a middle school math teacher in the South Bronx. After ten years working in schools and for various education nonprofit organizations – including Teach For America, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship and the National Foundation for Women Legislators – Jeanette joined Blue Engine in 2016 as Director of Individual Giving. Charged with expanding Blue Engine’s network of supporters, Jeanette will focus her efforts on cultivating relationships with individuals who have the capacity to meaningfully contribute to the future of Blue Engine’s growth and transformation. Prior to joining Blue Engine, Jeanette spent three years on Teach For America’s national development team guiding fundraising strategy for leadership gift-level donors, coaching regional development teams on donor relations and development operations, and building TFA’s first annual giving fund. In her free time Jeanette enjoys traveling the globe, practicing yoga, and cutting a rug.
