Jaimie Cirillo is the Program Coordinator for Blue Engine after serving as a BETA in 2014. Jaimie graduated from Dickinson College and is from Rye, NY. She has extensive experience working in an educational setting. From a young age Jaimie was passionate about working in the education field. In the summer of 2008, Jaimie volunteered at the Ward Summer Institute, where she helped tutor children who struggled in both math and reading. In addition, from 2008-2009, Jaimie tutored elementary school children through a program called Kid Space, where she helped students with their homework after school. Throughout college, Jaimie participated in the Big Brother’s Big Sister’s program as a mentor for struggling elementary school students. Jaimie’s primary focus during her time at Dickinson College was working with children and emphasizing the importance of education. Additionally, Jaimie worked as a teaching assistant at the Go Project summer program, where she assisted children who were below grade level. Jaimie also worked as a first grade teacher this past year for Achievement First. She is excited to use her experiences to help the incoming BETAs and to help students become college-ready.
