When Giselle began her career in the nonprofit development, she knew at once she had found her calling. Active in the sector for more than a decade, and with a passion for the impact that philanthropy can have on local communities, she has worked in various educational and cultural nonprofits. She joined the Blue Engine team in 2016 as Vice President of Development, leading a multi-year strategy effort to bridge from “launch” to “growth” phase. Giselle’s previous organizations include the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, where she built the foundation for its successful grants portfolio, and THINK Global School, as its first head of development. During her tenure at Teach For America, Giselle served as head of development in the Miami-Dade region and then went on to lead the Annual and Major Giving team on national development. Her teams have generated more than $20 million to help improve the educational prospects for children. Prior to joining the non-profit sector, she practiced law in South Florida for four years. Giselle’s family is from “la Arenosa” Barranquilla, Colombia. She is a native Spanish and fluent French speaker, and dreams of adding a few more languages to her repertoire. She loves to discover new cities and cultures with her amazing husband and three remarkable children.
