Thursday, 5 pm: Program team is grinding out school data analysis in the conference room, the Development team is collaborating at a cohort of window desks, and a team of BETAs are lesson planning over snacks in the Pantry. It is Day 12 in our new HQ space at 75 Broad Street and we are unbelievably grateful to be here.
In February 2009 Blue Engine, then a one-man operation, found its first home in Brooklyn with the Blue Ridge Foundation. As our Blue Engine family grew, so did our need for space. In March of 2013, Blue Engine, then an intrepid team of 12, crossed the Brooklyn Bridge to the Financial District and nestled in with the Edwin Gould Foundation at 55 Exchange Place. The 55 Exchange office housed many wonderful memories and organizational transformations, but we continued to grow and went in search for a larger space.
Now a team of 20 staff and 68 BETAs, we are honored to be settled in at 75 Broad Street and want to recognize the people whose vision, guidance, and support made this office move possible. Without them, we would not have been able to inhabit this space that cultivates a spirit of warmth, cohesion, and collaboration. Thank you for making our house a home!
