Education: English and Political Science, University of Michigan

Placement: Bronx River High School

Rebecca was born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI, where she developed an appreciation for cold winters and summers spent on Lake Michigan. She recently graduated from the University of Michigan, where she studied English and Political Science. She developed a deep appreciation for social justice and the value of education through the curriculum of her classes and professors at the University of Michigan, as well as her experience working for the Public Defender Service of Washington, D.C. She loves interacting with people and believes in the power of supporting and inspiring youth. Rebecca took on various leadership roles during her time in college and found a passion for helping others. She plans to attend graduate school in the future, but wants to gain more experience working with students and gaining perspective before committing to a career path. Rebecca is honored to be a part of Blue Engine this year and hopes help students appreciate the value of education, and maybe even get them to enjoy writing a little bit more than they did before.
