Rachel was born and raised in New York City, and is a recent graduate of Brown University. Loving both her science and humanities courses, Rachel majored in English and was pre-med. At Brown, Rachel developed a passion for teaching. Among other activities, she tutored adults with developmental disabilities, was a teaching assistant for an introductory chemistry course, and taught sexual health to Providence high-schoolers. She loves working with young people, and spent time as a volunteer at a children’s hospital and as a camp counselor. Rachel is so excited to continue to pursue her passion for teaching and for working with youth as a BETA this year. She is a firm believer in Blue Engine’s values and looks forward to helping her students achieve success in the classroom and beyond. In her free time, Rachel enjoys reading, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking.
