Education: Manhattan College – Major: Biology; Minor: Psychology
Olivia grew up in Ho-Ho-Kus in Northern New Jersey. In high school, she developed a passion for biology in high school and pursued a biology degree at Manhattan College. Olivia became fascinated with hands-on science in lab classes and was originally a PhD track research student, completing her own research project and presenting results, until she met scientists and engineers who had changed career paths to become teachers. She was inspired by their stories and started teaching STEM lessons at camp and afterschool in the Bronx. Working with students to show them how exciting STEM can be has been incredibly rewarding. Olivia’s goal has been to show students that anyone can excel in STEM and have fun doing it. Olivia looks forward to joining Blue Engine and engaging students in their education!
