Monica was born and raised in the small town of Hillside, New Jersey. From a young age, she was certain she wanted to become an educator due to the influence of dedicated and inspiring teachers who pushed her to succeed and enabled her to reach her full potential. Monica gained hands-on experience as she worked in various educational settings while as a teaching assistant in her parish’s education classes and as a volunteer at her high school’s preschool center. She went on to graduate from Rutgers University with a BA in History. During her time at Rutgers, Monica volunteered with her town’s historical society, the Hillside Historical Society, where she was able to educate and connect the community to their local history. She also participated in various clubs, such as the Rutgers University Programming Association, where she continued to develop essential team-working skills. Monica is both thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to work closely with students as a BETA in order to help students achieve their goals both inside and outside the classroom during the upcoming school year.
