Jasmine was born in Brooklyn and spent her childhood in the suburbs of New York City. She has always had a passion for Physics, Biology, English, Literature, and interacting with people. Before and during college, Jasmine’s enjoyment in helping people panned out further in a three-year-long full-time job as a Personal Care Aide at a nursing home. She was later drawn to education through her study of English. She graduated from Hunter College with a concentration in Rhetoric and Linguistics. She believes that language is key to understanding individuals as humans and finding the commonality, as well as rich differences, in morphology, dialect and vocabulary, all of which helps people respect each other. She is excited to work as a BETA and work towards becoming a teacher. When she is not in the classroom, Jasmine is usually reading a thick book, getting lost on hikes in upstate NY, or going to a local music venue.
