Chris is a native New Yorker and recent graduate of the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College. Deeply concerned with political, social and economic inequality, he has spent the past few years searching for the best way he can tackle these issues. In high school, Chris volunteered for a NYC council member as a constituent liaison, helping the community connect with much-needed municipal resources. Chris attended college with the intention of studying political science, but soon realized his passion for literature. During his undergraduate career, Chris worked as a mentor for CollegeSpring, an organization dedicated to helping high school students from low-income backgrounds not only reach college, but excel in it. In this role, Chris found a way to combine his love for reading and learning with his desire to fight inequality. He is excited to continue this work in a full-time role as BETA!
